The lifting platform works great. Derek and I did clean and jerks and squat cleans yesterday. We dropped weights from overhead for over an hour and there was zero floor vibration and the noise wasn't too bad either. It's noisy enough that I won't be doing that stuff while the kids sleep, but I can also drop weights and the neighbors won't get pissed and I won't thrash my concrete floor. During the workout yesterday, I set a PR on clean and jerk (155 pounds) and squat clean (185 pounds).
I already had the Airdyne and kettlebells. The Olympic lifting shoes are nice too. It's amazing how much difference they make when doing squats, deadlifts, clean and jerk, etc. They are expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
This project also motivated me to clean my garage. So we put in cabinets everywhere, got rid of a bunch of stuff and organized everything else. Overall, I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Just to try out the new lifting shoes, this morning I did back squats. 225 for 5 sets of 2 and 205 for 5 sets of 2.
