Freel Peak

64 pushups
run 20 miles (Freel Peak, very roundabout) 5:32:27

Freel Peak is the highest peak in the Lake Tahoe basin (just about 50 feet higher than Mt. Rose).  The normal way to get there is via the Rim Trail.  I cooked up this dumb idea to start off Pioneer Trail Road and go through Big Meadow.  That totally sucked, as we had to do a ton of cross country hiking.  The climb to the peak was no joke either, it is very sandy for the last 1/2 mile or so.  A very good run, but a challenging one.  I only have a couple pictures.  I would like to go back and bag the "big three" - Freel Peak, Job's Peak and Job's Sister all in one day.  I'll bring the camera then.

This is Star Lake along the Rim Trail.  It's the highest alpine lake in the Tahoe basin.
